Open Shop
April 3 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Do you have a project in mind, but are missing the tools or expertise to make it happen? Come to Open Shop, where you can use our equipment while receiving guidance from our expert facilitators. Need to repair that wobbly chair, or build a box to hold your records? We can help.
People of all skill levels are welcome, but if you don’t have experience with shop equipment, we highly recommend taking one of our Intro to Woodworking or Intro to Welding classes first. Open Shop sessions are 4 hours long, and larger projects may take multiple sessions.
                    —-
Materials are not included in Open Shop, but we do have several barrels full of free scrap hardwoods for smaller projects like cutting boards, coasters or wooden utensils, etc. Found, recycled, and reclaimed material projects are welcomed! We recommend checking out Urban Lumber to purchase local reclaimed hardwoods.
Unfortunately, we don’t have the space to store works-in-progress, so items must be taken with you at the end of the workshop. We include reasonable use of blades on equipment in the fee.
Before signing up, please email your project idea to and read through and sign the Waiver, Release of Liability Form. Once we know what project you intend to work on, we’ll be prepared to assist you! Of course, we’ll let you know ahead of time if we anticipate any issues with your project.
